Do you get lost in your thought labyrinth? Does it seem that you have an incessant voice in your head causing you considerable angst and anxiety? How do you deal with that verbose foe? Michael Singer in his book, Untethered Soul, explains the separation between person's thoughts and their awareness. Following that logic, thoughts are an object and the awareness is the observer. As an observer you have the ability to insulate yourself from your thoughts by simply allowing thoughts to pass through you before they cause significant emotional reaction in your body. Emotional reactions can create a build up of emotional energy which can manifest in a number of anxiety symptoms. How do you let go? According to some sources, a person can have between 60K-90K thoughts in a day. Can you believe every thought you have? So as you sense an emotional reaction, relax where you feel tension eg. heart, throat, stomach. Breath in and let the tension go. Simple realization that most of my thoughts are not true and I can release that emotional tension has helped me in achieving emotional freedom. Share any other techniques you use to release emotional tensions.
