This is the first book that changed my view on relationships. Popcak describes nine areas of marital imperative, fidelity, loving, service, rapport, negotiation, gratitude, joy, sexuality that any couple should consider when striving to build a rewarding relationship. I really enjoyed the questionnaire at the end of each focus area to assess where you are. The questionnaire is supposed to be taken by each partner individually and then you compare the notes. Once you establish where you are in each of the nine areas, you can build a plan how to improve. This exercise helped both my partner and I to build the blueprint of the relationship we both wanted.
